Bruce Long, 53, died Tuesday in a Rotan hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Jayton First Baptist Church with Garth Gregory officiating. Private burial will be in Jayton Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.

Mr. Long was born in Ellwood, Pa., and was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Brenda Worley in 1967 in Huntsville, Ala. He worked as the postmaster in Marathon from 1982 until becoming the Jayton postmaster in 1985. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, of Jayton; one son, Bryan Long of Lubbock; two daughters, April Long and Jamie Long, both of Jayton; his parents, Richard and Ora Long of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Bob Long of Darlington, Pa., and Chuck Long of Alexander, Va.; three sisters, Barbara Andrick of Darlington, Pa., Bonnie Casey of Warren, Pa., and Cheryl Hammer of Beaver Falls, Pa.; and one half-sister, Ruth Zeilinga of San Luis Obispo, Calif.
