Salt Lake City, UT - Darlene Ruth Dykes Roberts, our beautiful mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away on November 16, 2016, in Salt Lake City, surrounded by family and friends. Darlene was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 5, 1927 to Joseph and Arlene Dykes. She worked hard to put herself through school and was employed in the financial department of IML freight lines. Darlene had a quick wit and great sense of humor. She loved being with people. She enjoyed her bridge club, bowling league, cabin, dogs, puzzles, and the Red Hat Society. Her family was her greatest joy. She was a model of hard work and determination and taught us the value of being responsible.

Darlene is survived by her children; Diana (James) Andersen, Steven (Julie) Cornia, Lori Sugar, daughter in law; Annette Cornia and twenty grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life Loran "Slim" Roberts, sons; Jerry Cornia and Randy Cornia and daughter; Georganna Cornia.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Brighton home health and Hospice as well as the staff at Pacifica at Millcreek, especially the CNA's, for their tender and loving care.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 2:00pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd (10600 S) in Sandy with a visitation beginning at 1:00. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
