Kathryn Buckner was born on August 12, 1929 in Tipton, Oklahoma to Enock Marion and Mollie Merritt (Melton) Wallace. She attended school in Tipton before transferring to Frederick Public Schools and graduating from Frederick High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to John Howard Buckner on June 27, 1947 in Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2004. She had been saved at a young age at First Baptist Church in Frederick where she had been a member for many years. She later transferred her membership to Bethel Baptist where she attended with her daughter. Kathryn loved to keep up with decorating trends and was asked on numerous occasions to help others decorate their homes.She was survived by two daughters, Jan Randolph and her husband Frank of Concord, North Carolina and Kimberly Buckner of Frederick; two grandchildren, Dr. Chris Russi and his wife Abby of Rochester, Minnesota and Jennifer Light and her husband Randy of Concord, North Carolina; and five great-grandchildren, Isaac and Adrian Russi and Cale, Chance and Piper Light.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Dr. Virgil Wallace, Kendall Wallace, Ott Wallace and Ormer Wallace; and three sisters, Merritt Boatman, Violet Bates and Estelle Ulmer.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, November 23, 2016 and Thursday evening, November 24, 2016 from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
