Thomas E. Allen

Thomas Edison Allen age 94 of the Prosperity Community, died Friday afternoon, Nov. 18, 2016 at the Tennessee State Veteran's Home in Murfreesboro. He was born Dec. 11, 1921, son of the late William and Novella Fite Allen and was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Danny Wilson Jackson and 1 brother and 6 sisters. Mr. Allen was a graduate of Auburntown High School and a WW II veteran, serving as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S.Army and U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Prosperity Baptist Church for over 80 years and taught the Men's Sunday School Class. Tom is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ladye Hancock Allen; son, Mike Allen and his wife, Shirley and daughter, Lynne Jackson all of Auburntown; grandchildren, Christy (Brad) Prater, Brian (Teri) Jackson, Matt (Melissa) Allen, Lori (Nick) Smith; great grandchildren, Zoey Layhew, Micah and Liv Prater, Waylon and Shiloh Jackson, Gracie Smith, Maddie and Anniston Allen; nieces and nephews. Funeral services 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 at Prosperity Baptist Church with Bro. David Moody and Bro. Thurman Seber officiating. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and Noon till service time Monday at the church. Pallbearers, Dave Buterbaugh, Brian Jackson, Matt Allen, Brad Prater, Nick Smith, Tommy Allen, Eddy Brown, Stanley Allen. Interment with Military Honors at Prosperity Cemetery.
