Mr. Smith was born in Buchanan, Georgia on March 31, 1940. He was the son of the late Herman Smith and the late Rosie Cline Smith.
Survivors include two daughters; four sons; and a number of other relatives.
In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Smith was cremated. Private graveside services will be conducted at a later date.
