Anna Lee Kirk Posey went to be with her Jesus on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at 95 years young.
She was born April 30, 1921, to Robert Lee Kirk and Annie Ether Malone Kirk in Milam County, Texas. Her daddy died when she was eleven years old, leaving her mother to raise six children alone during the Great Depression. These struggles forged an unbelievable life long bond between the siblings which has been passed down to each generation.
In 1956 Anna married Charles Posey. They had one daughter, Ann Elisabeth, who they loved unconditionally and spoiled rotten. Charles preceded her in death after 49 years of marriage. They lived in Corpus Christi, Texas since 1961 but always considered Cameron, Texas to be home.
Prior to taking her home, God gave Anna a glimpse of Heaven which she described as “special, very special”. Her greatest joy would be for you to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior so that you can join her there. I John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, parents, brother Kenneth Kirk and wife Lilo, sister Ferrell Thorpe and husband Wix, brother Bobby Kirk and wife Mildred, and sister Jean Jackson. Anna is survived by brother-in-law Bobby Jackson and sister, Sue Curtis. Her faithful sister, Sue, is still here to remind us of all the adventures they shared – like going to California in the early 1940’s.
Thank you to the aunts and cousins who have visited, called, sent cards and prayed. Aunt Anna loved you so much.
Thank you to the many friends who loved Anna over the years – Aunt Bernice, Grandmommy Dodson, Reynold and Margarite, Marvin and Ruth, Gene and Cathy, Hilton and Doris, Joe and Barbara, Margie, Kay, Louise, Chris, Royce and Sally, Thanka and Victor, Linda, Cheryl, Brenda and too many others to list.
Thank you to the wonderful, compassionate caregivers over the years – Irene Elizondo, Adrian Luna, Donna Cate, Natanael Flores, Maria Davida, and Rosa Jackson. Thanks also to Nurses-On-Wheels Hospice, Dr. John E. Schulze and Dr. John Bishop.
Please join daughter Ann, favorite son-in-law Jim Page, Precious Darling granddaughter Cameron Ann and Sugarplum grandson Peyton as we remember Anna’s hospitality, delicious cookies, pies (homemade crust only!) and coconut cake at a visitation at Cage Mills Everhart on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 4 pm to 7:30 pm.
Anna will be taken home to Cameron, Texas for a graveside service at 1 pm on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at Liberty Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations go to Pleasant Hills Children’s Home at P.O. Box 1177 Fairfield, TX 75840.
