Martha Ann Fowler, 83, of Fortson, GA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Orchard View Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Beallwood Baptist Church 4650 Veterans Parkway Columbus, GA 31904 with Senior Pastor Billy Duncan and Associate Pastor Matt Sachitano officiating.
A private family interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Born January 30, 1933 in Cordova, Alabama, Ann was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma Hood, a son, Stephan Palmer, a brother, James Hood, and a sister, Mary Draper.
Ann served as acquisitions clerk at the Bradley Memorial Library until her retirement.
She enjoyed decorating her home and inviting family for reunions and entertaining guests.
She was a gourmet cook and expert flower gardener.
Her yard and deck overflowing with numerous colorful varieties of plants was a testimony to her love of nature and her belief that there could never be too many flowers in our world.
She was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church and a faithful member of the Bible Gleaners Sunday School class. She so enjoyed the monthly fellowship of Caleb’s Crew senior social group.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Walter Fowler, his son, LTC Eric Fowler and his wife, Teresa, three grandchildren, Ann’s son, Jeff Palmer and his wife, Christina, two sisters, Pat Coffey and Bette Pena, a brother-in-law, Bill Coffey and a sister-in-law, Sandra Hood, and several special loving nieces and nephews.
