Joseph Calvin McAlister, 64, husband of the late Helen Anne Poore McAlister, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016.
Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Calvin and Louise Moore McAlister. He attended Anderson College. Mr. McAlister formerly served as President of McAlister Builders in Anderson and Piedmont Concrete Pumping Company. He was currently an employee of Pol-Tech Machining.
Survivors include three daughters, Marti M. Perry and husband, Bryan of Marshville, NC, Amanda M. Styles and husband, Joey of Williamston, and Leigh M. Blakey and husband, Justin of Anderson; seven grandchildren, Bethany Williams, Will Perry, Jenna Perry, Ashlyn, Cady, and Ben Styles, and Elijah Blakey; and a sister, Judy Whitfield and husband, Vic of Bradenton, FL.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Reynolds.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Silver Brook Cemetery conducted by Dr. Kitty Holtzclaw and Rev. Bob Carlisle. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. The family is at the home of Leigh and Justin Blakey, 2602 Whitehall Avenue, Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
