Son of Abraham Hostetler and Agnes (nee Hardman) Hostetler. Began preaching at age 19; evangelized throughout central Illinois. Married Elizabeth Hardman 21 Jul 1816 in Bullitt County, Kentucky. Founded the Central Christian Church in Decatur, Illinois in 1833. Continued to preach through the Civil War. Ancestors of D. Coy.
