From another findagrave member:
Dear Ms. Horton,
Thank you for posting the tombstone pictures for Abraham Hostetler and his wife Agnes Hardman Hostetler on the Find a Grave website. This is a wonderful website and a real asset to genealogists. I notice, however, that although the dates of Anges Hardman Hostetler's birth and death are correct, the places are incorrect. Agnes was born in Frederick County, Maryland where church and naturalization records show her father, Anthony Hartman, was an assistant preacher at the Middletown Church of the Brethren from about 1747 until 1770. About 1787 the family moved to Washington County, Pennsylvania where her father purchased land and appears in the 1790 census records. It was probably in Washington County that Abraham Hostetler, age 18, married 15-year-old Agnes Hartman in April of 1789. By 1800 the Hardmans and Hostetlers were in Shelby County, Kentucky. For most of their married life, Agnes and Abraham lived in Shelby County, Kentucky, but they moved sometime after 1820 to Orange County, Indiana where Agnes died in 1824 and is buried. The Find a Grave website has her place of death incorrectly as Spencer, Kentucky but burial correctly as in the Old Liberty Church cemetery near Orleans, Indiana. Simply put, Agnes was born in Frederick County, Maryland near Middletown and died in Orange County, Indiana. I am hopeful that corrections can be made for other researchers. Thank you again for your work on the Find a Grave website. It is a big job and much appreciated.
