Lloyd Herbert "Herb" Brown, 70 of Winchester, passed away Thursday morning (May 25, 2006) at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. He was born July 15, 1935 near Winchester the son of James Ralph and Frances Audie Smith Brown. He married Nancy V. Whiteside March 26, 1959 in Winchester. She preceded him in death December 18, 1999. He married Mary Bigley September 27, 2003 in Winchester and she survives at home.

Mr. Brown attended Winchester schools. He served in the US Army, farmed in Scott County, and worked for the City of Alton in the Sewer Department for 15 years. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Winchester.

Other survivors include his 4 daughters Georgia (husband Dennis) Berkley of St. Charles, Missouri, Patricia (husband Michael) Morietta of St. Charles, Missouri, Laura (husband Shawn) McIver of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Leslie (husband George) Lay of Springfield, 1 granddaughter and 4 grandsons. 4stepchildren Mike (wife Kathy) Bigley of Winchester, Debra (husband Earl) Bean of Rolla, Missouri, Dianna Beal of Dixon, Missouri, and Donna (husband David) Burris of Rolla, Missouri. 14 step grandchildren and 18 step great grandchildren. 4 brothers Herschel (wife Frances) Brown of Winchester, James Ralph "Babe" (wife Barb) Brown of Winchester, Merle (wife Julie) Brown of Jacksonville, and John (wife Wanda) Brown of Winchester, 4 sisters Marie (husband Roland) Todd, Wanda (husband Basil) Hammon, Virginia (husband Bob) Wisdom, and Mary (husband David) Tribble all of Winchester, and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Leala Kay Brown and a bother Harold Brown, and sister Fern Brown.

Services were entrusted to Coonrod Funeral Home of Winchester, Illinois.
