Tom was born in New Westminster, BC and grew up in Cloverdale, BC. He worked on a mink farm for several years and then worked at a salvage yard in Whalley where he was injured leaving him semi-disabled. Tom moved to Cranbrook to be closer to his family and lived above the Kos Hotel where he assisted with general maintenance and enjoyed going fishing with his brothers. Tom never married.
Tom passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012 in Cranbrook at the age of 67 years. He is survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He was predeceased by his mother Thea; his father Ted; and his sisters Frances "June", Faith and Lois.
A gathering of family and friends was held in the early spring (2013.)
