Chris “CB” Eldon Beck, 62, of the town of Easton, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Mount View Care Center, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born on November 21, 1953, in Wausau, to Lawrence and Bertha (Kurth) Beck. Chris grew up in the town of Easton and attended Sunrise School and Easton Elementary before graduating from D.C. Everest High School. He was a hard-worker and took great pride in working as a truck driver for the past 38 years, currently working for Wausau Supply. CB also had past training as a mechanic. He took great pride in his community as well, serving as a volunteer for the past 20 years on the Town of Easton Fire Department as their “waterboy” running the tanker. He also volunteered as dishwasher for St. Paul’s UCC neighborhood meals. He served his country in the National Guard for six years as a mechanic. CB will be remembered as a great helper. He was always willing and available to help family and friends with anything, whether it was on the farm or his 30 plus years with the snowmobile club. While he was a hard-worker, he always looked forward to his annual spring fishing trip. Family was also very important and he was a special uncle to his niece and nephew. Survivors include his mother, Bertha “Bert” Beck; brother, Dean (Jan) Beck; niece, Emily Beck; nephew, Elliot Beck; uncle, Bob (Evie) Kurth; Auntie Charlotte; special cousins, Charlie (Phyllis) Beck, and their children, Michelle and Michael; Bill (Sue) Beck, Sandy (Dave) Sippl, Charmaine (Tom) Uphaus, Brent Kurth, Yvonne “Punkie” Wilkowski, Debbie Klemens, Diane, and Travis, Marty, and Lucas Kurth; special friend, John (Carol) Strehlow; and numerous other cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence; cousins, Bradley Kurth and Roger Beck; maternal and paternal grandparents; uncles, Lawrence (Elaine) Kurth, Clarence (Jeanette) Kurth, and Raymond (Elnora) Beck; aunt, Mildred (Edward) Ostrowski; and numerous other cousins. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 426 Washington St., Wausau, with Rev. Philip Schneider officiating.
