He graduated from Boling High School, attended East Texas Baptist College and retired as a Senior Operator from Schlumberger after 36 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Linda M. Soward of Corpus Christi; one son, David Bryan Soward of Corpus Christi; four daughters, Rhonda J. (Steve) Watzlavick of Victoria, Texas, Jolene Howden of Bay City, Michigan, Patricia (Jimmy) Moulds and Debbie Bendele all of Corpus Christi; three sisters, Velda Jean Dotson of Victoria, Vina Lee Crawley of Port Lavaca, Texas and Winona Joyce Klacman of Victoria; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandson.
