Martin Joseph Prescott was born September 21, 1920 at Radcliffe, Iowa and met his untimely death at the age of 47 years and 2 months on November 21, 1967.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Prescott was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and at an early age moved to the Adams community where he attended the public school and was a member of the Little Cedar Lutheran Church.

On September 28, 1941 he was united in marriage to Frieda Amble whereby they were blessed with five children. He had been engaged in farming up until the time of his death.

Martin was active and interested in his church and community activities and served on church and public school boards.

He is survived by his wife, Frieda and four sons, Charles of Adams, David of Winona State Teachers College; Thomas at home; and Donald who is serving with the Marines in Vietnam and one daughter Diane (Mrs. Richard Davis) of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren, Cindy, David and Kevin Prescott; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Prescott and one brother George, three sisters Ruth and Lillie all of Adams and Julia (Mrs. Lenus Ekstrand) of Missoula, Montana; besides a host of relatives and friends. Blessed be his memory.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 25, 1967 at 1:30 pm at the Little Cedar Lutheran Church at Adams, Pastor Wayne Quibell officiating. Interment was at Little Cedar Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Allan and Gale Prescott, Chester Johnson, Alger Amble, William Allen and Raymond Flatjord.

47 year old Martin Prescott was fatally hurt in a corn dryer accident last Tuesday (Nov. 21).

The accident occurred sometime between 5:15 and 10:15 am on the Clarence Maly farm near Grand Meadow. The Mower county Sheriff's Office said he apparently got into the base of the dryer and was caught by the auger.

His body was discovered by his brother George at 10:15 a.m.
