A graduate of Turner High School, Bill had been a resident of Love County all of his life. Following graduation, he then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, where he received a bachelor’s degree in education. Bill and the former Karen Taliaferro were married on February 14, 1981. He had been employed as a meat processor for Robertson’s Hams for more than 30 years, retiring in 2015. His hobbies included riding horses, gardening, growing flowers, and hunting deer . . . his favorite place to be was in the outdoors with nature. Bill had a great passion for life and enjoyed being with family and friends and sharing stories with them. However, his greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren. A member of Marietta’s First Baptist Church, Bill had served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Karen of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jereme and Kathleen Hilton of Bixby, OK and Justin Hilton of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Marion and Laverne Hilton of Marietta; sister, Pat Hilton of Ardmore, OK; three grandchildren, Paisley, Jentry, and Wyatt; brother-in-law, Larry Taliaferro and wife Linda of Burneyville, OK; and sisters-in-law, Andrea Locke and husband Mickey of Marietta and Karla Dunlap and husband Luke of McKinney, TX.
Serving as casket bearers are Wade Taliaferro, Lynn Hilton, Jeff Clark, Jake Dunlap, Chance Tynes, and Kent Shankles. Honorary bearers are Johnny Harper, Claude Crossland, Paul Riley, Dewayne Riley, Robert Riley, Tim Arthur, and Jim Coble.
