Ella's parents were Mr. and Mrs. Jens P. Anderson. Jens was born in Denmark. He came to America and settled on a farm in Clayton Township. Ella Hanson was born on this farm in 1882.
Peter and Ella Hanson had five children, Matie, Herbert, Gerald, Pearl and Earl. all have passed away except Matie and Herbert.
Peter died in 1914 leaving Ella with five small children, She rented the farm and moved to Taopi, Minn. where she was janitor in the Taopi School. While there little son, Earl, died from polio. In 1920 they moved back to the farm in Clayton Township and with the help of Herbert and Gerald started farming again.
