Joseph St John was born Nov 5, 1703 to Joseph St John Sr b1664 and Sarah Betts St John. He passed away on 29 Sep 1756. A portion of his marker was rediscovered in 1893. He had a large table-like marker and the disappearance of it has long been a mystery. The Original tomb marker was a brownstone type five legged table with an inset slate tablet inscribed with an epitaph and the St John family crest as shown to the right. At some point in the late 1800's it mysteriously disappeared. A portion of the tablet was rediscovered while excavating for a drainfield on property nearby some years later. The Tombstone marker was for some reason dis-assembled and the legs were never found. (There is now a pictorial rendering of the original monument added to this memorial)
