C. C. WYCKOFF DIES AT HOME NEAR HERE; FINAL RITES HELD
Services were held Monday afternoon from the Sutphen Funeral Home for C. C. Wyckoff, 89, who died Saturday at his home 4 1/2 miles southeast of Villisca. The Rev. E. M. Buchler was in charge of the final rites and burial was made in Villisca Cemetery.
Pall bearers were George Christian, Glen Boggess, Max Poston, Oren Ridnour, Earl Fisher, and Robert Reynolds and music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Albert P. Davie, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Frances Wheeler.
Charles Clifford Wyckoff, was born at Oquawka, Henderson County, Illinois, November 27, 1850, being the eldest and last survivor of a family of nine children. In May 1868 he came to Red Oak and was a resident of Montgomery County 72 years. On December 13, 1874, he was united in marriage to Sara F. McLaren, who preceded him in death, July 14, 1936, after 61 1/2 years of married life. After their marriage they lived in the vicinity of Red Oak until 1901, moving northwest of Villisca. In 1906 they moved to the home where they both lived until their deaths. Mr. Wyckoff is survived by one son, Clyde.
