Anthony Pizzonia, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on January 16, 2002. He was 76. Mr. Pizzonia was born on January 31, 1925 in the Bronx to the late Joseph and Mary (Doria) Pizzonia. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 8. Mr. Pizzonia worked as a firefighter for the City of New Rochelle for 29 years until his retirement in 1986. He was the former Exalted Ruler of the New Rochelle Elks Club, a former Scout Master for Troop 20 Boy Scouts, and the Senior Instructor for EMS for the County of Westchester. In 1988 he married Joan Raven in New Rochelle. In addition to his wife, Joan, Mr. Pizzonia is survived by five children, Robert of New Rochelle, Patricia Vigue of New Rochelle, Michael of Connecticut, Jennifer Carideo of Rye, and Ann Marie of Pelham; and one stepson, Warren Bradley of Connecticut. He is also survived by five grandchildren, David, Alex, and Amanda Vigue and Jordana and John Colton Carideo; and a sister of New Rochelle. Mr. Pizzonia is predeceased by his first wife, Marie Fay. Visiting will be Thursday and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at LLOYD MAXCY & SONS BEAUCHAMP CHAPEL. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday at 9:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Westchester, 95 South Broadway, White Plains, NY.
