"Franklin G came to Indiana and located in the town which his brother Able founded. In 1838 and 1839 he was a Justice of the Peace for Harrison Twp., Blackford County before and at the time the county was organized... In 1857 he was an agent for the E. F. Wood Tombstone Mfg., of Bluffton, Ind. He was a local Baptist preacher in Montpelier - one of the first ministers of the gospel and one of the pioneer teachers (school) in Harrison township and was especially skilled in English grammer."
