There is a Stephen A. Brown buried at Back Creek in the Rowan County Cemetery book. with the following details: born Sept 24, 1839 died 28 June 1862 Age: 22 years 9 months 4 days Battle of Seven Pines. Notes that the grave is "under boxwood" Thana White Cottrell
