Nita J. Moore, 83, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016.

Visitation with the family present will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Prayer Service on Wednesday, November 9, at Miller Westside Funeral Chapel, 6200 W. 41st St. Funeral Service will be 10:30 am Thursday, November 10, at Peace Lutheran Church, 5509 W. 41st St. with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Nita Jean (Freter) Moore, daughter of Erwin and Violet (Johnson) Freter, was born November 15, 1932 in Tyler, MN. She grew up in Balaton, MN where she graduated from Balaton High School in 1950. She attended Gustavus Adolphus College for a year and Minnesota School of Business for a year. After college, she worked in Cottonwood, MN for an insurance company for 3 years.

Nita was united in marriage with Delwin Moore on January 19, 1953 in Balaton, MN. They lived on a farm near Garvin, MN until 1959. Del’s career moved them to Minneapolis MN, Worthington MN for 4 years, Cleveland OH, Aberdeen SD for 15 years; Mitchell SD, Kansas City MO where she worked at Murphy Industry. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1985, where she worked for Daniels-Olsen Building Supply until her retirement in 1994. Then, in 1987, they built their own home on Lake Madison, near Wentworth SD where they lived for 17 years before returning to Sioux Falls in 2004.

She really enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her family especially all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 63 years, Del Moore, Sioux Falls, SD; four daughters, Susan (Roger) Deutsch, Parker SD, Sharon (Bob) Kienow, Mansfield SD, and twins, Pamela (Clark) Koob, Sioux Falls SD, Peggy (Tom) Arnoldy, Sioux Falls SD; eight grandchildren, Gretchen (Mark) Brown, Tyler (Kate) Kienow, Brent Koob, Adam (Jesse) Deutsch, Spencer (Ashlee) Kienow, Alex Koob, Sam Koob, Breanna Arnoldy; six great grandchildren, Nicholas, Cooper, Aubree, Dylan, Hadley, Aydan, Camden, Hanna, Brooks.

Nita was preceded in death by her parents.
