Alice Gamble Rodgers, age 84, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis. She was born March 23, 1932 in Union County, the daughter of the late Lewis H. Gamble and Mary McManus Gamble. In earlier years Alice worked for the former F.W. Woolworth & Co., Kannapolis. Later, she was employed with the former Terry Products, Inc. where she worked for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Kannapolis, where she had taught Sunday school in earlier years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Rodgers. Survivors include her son, Steve W. Rodgers and her daughter, Paula Rodgers Wagner and husband, Ronnie, both of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Beth, Sara, Jason, and Jeremy; five great-grandchildren, Brooke, Ava, Hunter, Emma, and Lilly; and two sisters, Judy Joyner of Concord and Pauline Haithcock of Kannapolis. Visitation and Service: The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Darrell Brumfield. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral Home prior to the service.
