"Ira Montanye, a lifelong resident of Sloansville, died at his home there Saturday afternoon, March 3rd. He was in his eightieth year having been born June 15, 1854 at Sloansville the son of George V. and Susan Crocker Montanye. He married Miss Emma Winter of Sloansville who survives him. He is also survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. Edward Blake of Schenectady, one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Ostrander of Cobleskill and a brother, Charles Montanye of Stuyvesant, N.Y. Mr. Montanye was the youngest of ten children. Due to the illness of Mrs. Montanye private funeral services were held at his late home Tuesday afternoon, March 6th, with Rev. Hext and Rev. J. C.
