William A. Argo, 94, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017. Born February 21, 1923 in Columbus, Ohio to Pearl (Williams) & James Alexander Argo. Preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Weider Conover; brother, J. Richard Argo; wife, Barbara Argo & daughter, Sarah (Daniel) Clark of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Survived by his son, Robert (Glenda) Argo; grandchildren, Joshua & William Argo, Elizabeth & Andrew Clark. With Argo & Lehne Jewelers for over 50 years. Graduated from OSU, served as a Lieutenant in the Infantry Brigade in India during WWII. Member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, Columbus Rotary, Columbus Country Club, The Athletic Club and The University Club. President of the American Gem Society of the US & Canada, the Jewelry Industry Council, the Family & Children's Bureau. On the Boards of Huntington National Bank, Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co., Columbus Museum of Art & BalletMet Columbus. Elder & trustee of the Central College Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Friday, November 10th, 2017, at SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State St. Columbus, OH 43215 where a Memorial Service will follow at 2 pm. Dr. Richard Ellsworth officiating.
