The following is from a journal kept by
John Bradford Long.
" On Monday January 7th 1889 a little boy baby came into our home...a bright beautiful child."
"On January 29th the dear little babe was taken sick with Diphtheria. Innocent little pet, how I hated to give it medicine and spray its little throat and how I hoped and prayed that its life would be spared to us. But God in His infinite wisdom seen fit to take it to Himself. It passed away in my arms on Sabbath eve, February 3rd and it would have been just 4 weeks old the next morning; but instead of opening its eyes on Monday morn in this world, it opened them in that place where all is joy and peace and where I hope and pray we may meet it, never more to part."
Cemetery Record Number: 1552. Removed from Beaver Cemetery and reburied on May 19, 1930.
