Paul G Blakeslee, 81, of Blakeslee St., Spartansburg, PA, died Thursday, Nov 3, 2016, at Corry Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb 12, 1935, in Spartansburg, a son of the late Paul A and Doris Blakeslee. Paul was raised and educated in Spartansburg and graduated from Sparta High School. Following school, he lived in Spartansburg until moving to Picidilli Hill in the mid 1950s. Paul operated a small dairy farm there. He moved back to Spartansburg on Rte 77 in 1973, where he also had a dairy farm. He then moved in the late 1970s to Blakeslee Street in Spartansburg, where he has lived since. Paul also worked at Raymond Mfg (Associated Spring-Barnes Group) in the heat treatment department for over 30 years, retiring in early the 2000's. During retirement Paul and his wife spent winters in Starke, Florida. He enjoyed camping, hunting, carpentry, wood working and various crafts. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death on July 31, 2014, by his wife, Doris A Nichols Blakeslee, whom he married July 25, 1953, in Centerville, PA.; a sister, Beverly Bittner; a brother, William Blakeslee; a grandson, Paul Arthur Blakeslee; and a great-great-granddaughter, Kylie Shianne Mitcham. Paul is survived by four daughters, Karen Martin and her husband Bob of Warren, PA, Pauline Bachko of Corry, PA, Debbie Mitcham and her husband Bob of Guys Mills, PA, and Tammy Joy and her husband Frank of Spartansburg, PA; and two sons, Rev Terry Blakeslee and his wife Lois of Starke, FL, and Roger Blakeslee and his wife Tonya of Corry, PA. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, several great and great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours held. A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home, Corry, PA.
