McCool, Robert Kennedy, 87, died Nov. 1. Services 10 a.m. Saturday, Ridgecrest Church of Christ, Oklahoma City (Bill Eisenhour SE, Del City).

Robert K. McCool, "Bob", was born on April 18th, 1929 in Buncombe County, NC. He was raised in Black Mountain, NC, helping his mother, along with his older brother, JC, in the restaurant she owned. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army Air Corp, working as a DJ for the Armed Forces Radio, then moving to Personnel. He was a Senior Enlisted Advisor at Tinker Air Force Base OK, before being transferred to the 72nd Air Base Wing from which he retired in 1977 after 30 years of exemplary service to our great country. He was proud of his Air Force career and enjoyed the many places he traveled to and the wonderful people he met and worked alongside. After retiring from the Air Force, he began to work at the Oklahoma City Eskridge Motors office in their warranty department. He met his wife of 57 years when they were both stationed at Shaw AFB, in SC. Ada Bernice Queen McCool preceded him to the heavenly gates six years ago. He is survived by his two sons, Ronald L. McCool and his wife, Laura, and Robert K. McCool, II, and his wife, Kathi. He also has four grandchildren, Daniel McCool, Anna McCool Ballay, Joshua McCool, and Nicole Cunningham and their spouses. These grandchildren gave him eleven great- grandchildren, of whom he was very proud. His older brother, JC McCool lives in Black Mountain, NC. Bob served many years as an elder at the Ridgecrest Church of Christ, where he enjoyed providing spiritual guidance to the congregation. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball. While stationed at Ramey AFB, PR, he played on the Over 30 team and coached young men's teams. He also had a passion for working on cars, especially older ones. He was a well-rounded man who touched a lot of lives. His life celebration will be held at the Ridgecrest Church of Christ, 500 N. Air Depot Blvd, Midwest City, OK on Saturday, 5 Nov, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Friday evening from 3 to 8 p.m., at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home, 5005 SE 29th St. Del City, OK 73115.
