William King and Margaret DeVane King were married about c. 1777 and had at least 9 children:

6.Tabitha King (1788 -1870) m. Basil Kornegay(1766-1822) left Will in Dallas Co., AL 17 Oct 1863 recorded 21 April 1871.
7. Helen Louisa King (15 Feb 1793 - 1856) m.Henry W. King
8. Catherine King (1795-1816) m.John or Joel Parrish (see note)
9. John DeVane King (1797 -1833 ) Never married.
All were born in North Carolina and moved to Alabama.
Note: Catherine King Parrish died in childbirth with her first child which was named Catherine. She was raised by her grandmother Margaret Devane King(1758-1826) and was taken to Alabama when the King's moved there. Little Catherine Parrish is listed in Thomas DeVane Bible. The entry reads: "Catherine Parish, 10 yrs. old, was born October the 9th___ ". It is grouped with the death dates.
In New Hanover Co., NC Deed Book H pg. 193 Margaret DeVane King's father, Thomas Devane left the following deed on 15 Jan 1784 . Thomas Devane,Sr.(1725-1817) of New Hanover Co., NC "to my beloved only son Thomas Devane, Jr.(1762-1831) for love, good will & esteem gave following..... provided Thomas, Jr.(1762-1831) has married to Margaret Devane alias Bloodworth and it's agreed that if Thomas, Jr(1762-1831)dies without issue by Margaret then Margaret is to have 1/3 of the named possessions and remaining 2/3's go to heirs of my daughter Margaret King. Signed Thomas Devane, Wm. Devane & Jas. Devane wit. oath Oct. 1784 by Wm Devane. Deed Book H pg 193.
Note: There were 5 generations of Thomas DeVane's . The oldest Thomas at the time took the title of "Sr.".
