Graveside services for Leon Harkins, 73, of Lubbock were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 1990, in Ralls Cemetery with Dalton "Dee" Ellis, minister at Monterey Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial was under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

He died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, 1990, at his residence after an illness.

He was born in Marlow, OK, and attended school in Crosbyton. He worked as a cook in the Lubbock area and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Dianne Bray of Dallas; and two sisters, Bessie Brints of Crane and Lela Loft of Pismo Beach, CA.
