FRANCIS MARION "JACK" IRVIN (ERVIN)

Francis Marion "Jack" Irvin (Ervin) was born January 1, 1828 in Kershaw County, South Carolina to Rigdon and Rosamond Mary Ann (Lowry) Irvin (Ervin).

Jack was a PVT 2 in the Mississippi Infantry in the Mexican-American War. He enlisted at age 18. He was a farmer and owned land in Mississippi.

At age 23, he married Sarah Ray, age 16, on July 16, 1851. They married in Monroe County, Mississippi. Children:

Sarah passed away on December 5, 1881.
