Parents: Isaac Doty & Elizabeth England.

Married Penelope Albertson, daughter of Derrick Albertson & Dinah Coles, early settlers of Oyster Bay. Her father "One of the Most substantial people & resided in that part of town known as Mosquito Cove. His will of record dated Sept 3, 1733 called himself a millwright and devises his estate to widow & children. One of them called "Penelipy Dotey".

On June 9, 1704, Jacob received from his father, Isaac, a farm on Oyster Bay "in consideration of duty & affection".

In 1718, he bought a farm from the executors of his brother, Joseph.

On May 1, 1737, Jacob Doty & wife Penelope of Oyster Bay, sell to Theodorus Collier, land near Hempstead Harbor, bounded by the lands of his brothers: Samuel & Solomon. Deed acknowledged Jan 4, 1743.

In 1747, Jacob elected at town meeting, overseer of highway for Littleworth, now known as Glenwood, town of Hempstead.

Children: "no positive evidence or records, there is good circumstantial evidence".

John D and name may have been John Derrick Doty and he be the "Dirck Doty" living in Dutchess Co, NY, 1750-1760. Dirck Doty was Capt. May 22, 1766, Charlotte Precinct, Dutchess County, NY.

I found in the Edward Doty Silver Book v III, pg. 10, Jacob and wife Penelope sold their land in Oyster Bay, Nassau Co, NY in 1737 and were taxed in Dutchess Co, NY several times through June 1763.
