Son of Hershel Edwin and Jenny Ruth Smith Sams.
Married Peggy Sue Weese August 27, 1971 in Grape Creek, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are brother Donald (Linda) Sams; sister Shelley (Scott) Badger; aunt Wilma (Larry) Straughn; several special cousins, nieces & nephews; his chosen son & daughter-in-law, Matt (Leah) Keele; 2 chosen grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Shawn Allen Sams, brothers, Hershel Wayne, Ronald, and Keith Sams.

1968 graduate of Covington High School.

Before his retirement he had been employed as an electrician at Esco in Danville IL and as a glazier for Bacon & Van Buskirk Glass Co. in Danville IL.

He attended West Liberty Church of Christ, and was a member of the Local Glazier Union in Indianapolis.

Bob will be remembered as a person who could fix or build anything, even if he had to construct a tool in order to make the repair. He enjoyed spending many hours in his garage restoring old cars and mowers, constructing furniture, and working on many other miscellaneous projects. He was also a handyman willing to work on many of his family, friends, and neighbors projects.

Memorial service 11am Wednesday December 30 at West Liberty Church of Christ, Covington IN, with Pastor Kevin Wildman officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the West Liberty Church of Christ or Southern Care Hospice.
