Mr. Horace Dixon, 94, died Monday, December 28, 1998 in Carrolton of Dunn Nursing Home.
He was born in Verona, on May 28, 1904, the son of the late Burl and Lorena Deal Dixon and was preceded in death by his wife, Ester Sammons Dixon.
His survivors include two daughters, Hilda D. Bannerman and Edna Earl Core, both of Dunn; son, John Garland Dixon of Wilmington; sisters, Ethel Millis of Snead Ferry, Eppie Rhodes of Jacksonville; brother, Ebbo Dixon of Burgaw; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 1998 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville by Elder Virgil Davis and Elder R.L. Fish. Interment will follow at Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 1998 at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, and other times at the home of Mrs. Eppie Rhodes, 1739 Blue Creek Road, Jacksonville.
