Emma Burson, 95, of Aurora, passed away Friday, December 1, 2006 at Countryside Care Centre. She was born April 10, 1911 in Romania, daughter of the late John and Anna (Topas) Popp.

Emma was a member of St. George Byzantine Catholic Chu-rch.

Survivors include her daughters, Sylvia (Jay) Chism of Yorkville, Violet Hall of Aurora and Mary Burson of Aurora; sons, Louis Burson of Colorado, Victor Burson of Yorkville, Joe (Kathy) Burson of Aurora, Steve (Bonnie) Burson of Aurora, Bob Burson of Yorkville and Nick Burson of Galesburg; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, sisters; Mary Broski and Florence Fullwood both of Aurora and many nieces and nephews.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband, John Burson on August 18, 1970; sons, George Burson and John Burson, Jr.; a daughter, Mary Burson in infancy; a grandson, Andrew Burson; a brother, George Popp; and a son-in-law, Bill Hall.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 10 AM at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora with Fr. Frederick Peterson, OSB officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 3, 2006 from 2-6 PM with a prayer service at 3 PM. Interment will be at the St. George Section of Lincoln Memorial Park.
