Jo Ann Stewart, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday after a brief illness.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery in Comanche County on CR 144 (see Bailey-Howard website for map). Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at her home in Moran, 640 Ground Street (two story rock house).

Jo Ann was born in Fort Worth on May 25, 1941 to the late Eddie McCann and Faye Juanita Stotts.

Jo Ann spent several years in and out of orphanages until she met the love of her life at age 15, James Hollie Stewart. They were married 54 years until his passing in November, 2010.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hardin Simmons University in 1978 in addition to maintaining her home and children. She worked as a counselor for Wackenhut and she always helped those in need everywhere she went.

Jo Ann and Hollie were blessed with five children and spent their time in Fort Worth, Baird, Moran and Comanche. Jo Ann found great happiness in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jo Ann loved God and her family very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Joseph Thomas in 2011.

She is survived by one brother, Bobby York of Moran; son, Stanley Stewart and wife, Roxanna of Ranger; three daughters, Susan Hurley of Strawn, Hollie Nichols of Azle and Mary Day and husband Kevin of Forth Worth; nine grandchildren, Michael Stewart and wife Nicole of Cisco, Thomas Stewart and wife Kristin of Stephenville, Courtney Stewart of Azle, Nicolas Stewart and wife LaShae of Chickamauga, Georgia, Kyle Nichols and wife Brittni of Bridgeport, Alex Hurley of Putnam, Samuel Stewart of Cisco, Vivian Day of Fort Worth and Connor Day of Fort Worth; four great grandchildren, Austin and Emma Stewart of Cisco and Allison and James Stewart of Stephenville.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery Fund, Box 358, Comanche, TX 76442.
