WillaBeth “Billie” Badgley, 90, died Oct. 11, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Eskridge, Kan., to Hershel William and Jessica (Day) Hay.

Billie graduated from Eskridge High School in 1944 and attended Kansas State University, where she met her husband, Bill. She was a homemaker and of the Presbyterian faith. Billie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was extremely family-oriented, with her world revolving around her entire family. Billie was a talented decorator and seamstress, and an outstanding cook and hostess. She will be greatly missed.

On April 23, 1948, she married William Arthur “Bill” Badgley in Manhattan. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage. He survives. Others survivors include: daughters, Jayne Briscoe and husband Dick of Hutchinson, Susan Simmons and husband Bob of Colorado Springs, Colo., Patrice Leavens and husband Mark of Fairfield, Conn.; sister, Rosemary Crilly and husband Gordon of Wamego; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; a brother; two sisters; and a nephew.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Mark H. Miller officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Suburban Missionaries, for the benefit of the KAJ Foundation at the Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
