MILFORD, PA. — Asa R. Martin, 72, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at home. Born in Milford, he lived in Lafayette for 20 years before moving back to Milford 20 years ago.
Mr. Martin was a lineman for JCP&L in Hampton, retiring 14 years ago after 32 years of service.
The son of the late Asa R. Martin Sr. and Dorothy Stone Martin, Mr. Martin was predeceased by his first wife, Clara M. Martin on Jan. 23, 1983 and one brother, Jim Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Pat Virga Martin; two sons, Dale Martin and his wife, Valerie, of Milford, Pa. and Jeffrey Martin and his wife, Susan, of Wantage; one daughter, Robin Nagy and her husband, Keith, of Fredon; four step-sons, Tony Virga and his wife, Lorraine, of Hampton, Dennis Virga and his wife, Kathy, of Kunkletown, Pa., Keith Virga and his wife, Susan, of Hampton and Michael Virga of Northfield; one brother, David Martin of Milford; and one sister, Barbara Smith of Newton; his former mother-in-law, Lillian Lance; and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton. Interment will follow in North Hardyston Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
