Rev. Warren R. Steffenhagen, 89, of Oconto Falls, passed away Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Cottages of Meadowlands, Oconto Falls. He was born to the late John and Clara (Kohn) Steffenhagen February 9, 1927 in Hastings, MN. Warren attended grade school at Hastings Public Schools. He graduated from Dr. Martin Luther High School of NewUlm, MN in 1945. Warren graduated from Northwestern Lutheran College of Watertown, WI in 1949. In 1952 he graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI. He married the former Mavis Sievert June 21, 1952. Warren was ordained on July 27, 1952. Rev. Warren served as Pastor of St. Paul, Moline, IL; dual parish of Trinity, Friesland, WI and Grace, Dalton, WI; Holy Cross, Withrow, WA; St. Matthew, Spokane, WA; First Lutheran, Gary, SD; the tri parish of St. Paul, Oconto Falls, Our Saviour, Lena and St. Mark, Spruce; dual parish of Our Saviour, Lena and St. Mark, Spruce and he served as Circuit Pastor of the Lake Superior Conference for ten years. Warren was past president of the Oconto Falls and Gillett Rotary Club. During their retirement Warren and Mavis enjoyed sharing time together as he substituted at various churches in Northeastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula.

Surviving are four children, Martin, Redwood Falls, MN; Deborah (Fran) Wranosky, Oconto Falls; Cynthia (Bob) Bristol, Oconto Falls; Katherine (Jim) Spencer, Stillwater, MN; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mavis of nearly 64 years who passed away May 25, 2016, one sister, Dorothy and four brothers, Lawrence, John, Rev. Robert and Paul.

The family will greet relatives and friends Sunday, October 30th from 4 - 8 P.M. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 301 S. Chestnut Ave., Oconto Falls. Visitation will continue Monday at the church from 9 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 A.M. with Pastor Matthew Arnold officiating. Warren will be placed to rest at St. Mark Cemetery, Spruce.
