Sr. Ann Mary Nutz, 85, died peacefully on February 21, 2013, at Franciscan Courts in Oshkosh, WI. She was born to parents Franz and Notburga (Lang) Nutz on July 26, 1927 in Oberbuchfeld Bavaria, West Germany and was given the name Anna Nutz. She was from a family of five brothers and three sisters. She entered the religious community of the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother on July 7, 1948, in Abenberg, Germany. She began her Novitiate on March 19, 1949 and was given the name Mary Vincentia. She professed First Vows in Abenberg, Germany and later was asked to come to the United States. She resided at the community motherhouse in Milwaukee, WI. She made Final Vows on August 12, 1956. She took back her baptismal name Ann (Anna) in 1966 and was known as Sister Ann Mary Nutz. She celebrated her Silver Jubilee in 1976; Golden Jubilee in 2001 and her 60th Jubilee in 2011.

She completed high school in 1954 at the Mater Dolorosa High School in Milwaukee, WI after which she took nurses training at the St. John School of Nursing in Tulsa, OK and then became an RN in 1957. She attended the Marian College in Fond du Lac, WI and earned a BS in Nursing in 1967. In 1997, she recieved certification as a Pastoral Associate by the United States Catholic Conference in Washington, D.C. in 1979. She was a member of the National Catholic Association of Chaplains. Sister Ann Mary served at St. Ann Hospital in Truth of Consequences, NM; St. Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington, WI; St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. She retired from her ministry in Pastoral Care in Tulsa, OK in 2010. She then relocated to Franciscan Courts in Oshkosh, WI. Sister Ann Mary was a very kind and gentle person. She will be missed by her community Sisters, staff, and everyone who knew her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Sister Ann Mary on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Franciscan Courts Chapel, 815 S. Westhaven Dr. in Oshkosh. The Rev. Fr. William Kuhr will be the celebrant. Homecoming for Sister Ann Mary will be held (TODAY) Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 4 p.m. at the Franciscan Courts Chapel. Burial will be in Riverside Catholic Cemetery.
