Charlene Young was welcomed home by her Father in Heaven on October 25, 2016 at a local care center. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 29th at 11:00am at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple with Pastor Gary DeSalvo officiating.
She was born Charlene Lambert on August 3, 1924 to Tom and Beatrice Rhoads in Tenaha, TX. She graduated from high school and college in Mexia, TX where she also taught school for a few years. Charlene married Carl Young in November, 1943. They were married for 49 years until his death in 1992.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Temple where she loved her Sunday School class under Estherbell Caesar for over 50 years. Charlene was also a member of the Joy Singers Senior Choir at FBC. Her undying faith in Christ was evident in her day to day life.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband Carl Young, husband Tom Rogers, and sister, Ala Dee Kyle. She is survived by her sons, Randy Young and his wife Cynthia, Dennis Young and his wife Annette, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family requests all memorials to be made to the Temple Bible Church Building Fund.
We will all miss her greatly.
