Jean grew up in Togo and graduated from Alango High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Ronald "Bud" Sallila on March 15, 1956. Jean had worked for Woolworth's Department Store and later as an aide at Leisure Hills Nursing Home, retiring in 1988. Her family fondly remembers how she loved to share stories of growing up on the farm. One of her greatest pleasures was listening to classic country music. Every spring, Jean looked forward to getting out and working in her flower gardens - one of her very favorite pastimes. Her other creative passions included sewing, scrapbooking, watching cooking shows on television and cooking. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend as well as a beautiful human being who will be sincerely missed by all of those whose lives she touched. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren who will miss her very much.
She is survived by three children: Greg Sallila, Linda (Brian) Dahl, and Nancie (Al) Bush; grandchildren: Brandy (Jason Senogles) Sallila, Matt Sallila, Aaron Dahl, Adam (Alana) Dahl, Alison (Jason) Stanaway, Ashley (Peyton Servaty) Dahl, Dylan Bush, Dallas Bush, and Kaley Bush; eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Kay Lind, Rose (Tom) Schwinn, Jim Bunich, and John Seline; and by many special cousins, nieces and nephews.
