He was born on May 2, 1947 in Yoakum to the late William “Bill” and Aileen (Weigelt) Manning of Yoakum.
Ralph was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He married the love of his life, Alice Marie Hanys on Feb 6, 1971, and they enjoyed 45 years together along with raising their children: Alicia, Angela & Jared. Ralph graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1965 and received a dual bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and in Accounting, worked for TexTan Western Leather and Circle Y of Yoakum, served 20+ years in the Army National Guard, and continued the family tradition of raising cattle.
We are thankful for the many memories of “Dad” and “PawPaw” and cherish the guidance and love that he provided throughout the years we had with him. Ralph will be dearly missed by all who knew him for being a man of his word, a pillar of integrity, for his compassion & fairness but most importantly, for his sense of humor and kindness.
Proceeded in death by his parents, William “Bill” and Aileen Manning; grandchildren, William Riley & Reese Ann Manning; brother-in-law Leon E. Petru.
Visitation 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2016 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home with Rosary recited at 7pm.
Funeral Mass 10am, Saturday, Oct 29, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
