PFC Steadmon Adams Jr, Vietnam Veteran, He was a Native of Cerro Gordo NC.

PFC Steadmon Adams Jr was a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee, PFC Adams served our country until March 15th, 1966 in South Vietnam. He was 20 years old and was not married. Steadmon died from small arms fire or grenade. PFC Adams is on panel 06E, line 009 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.

The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Steadmon Adams Jr., who died in the service of his country on March 15th, 1966 in Darlac Province, Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Small Arms Fire. At the time of his death Steadmon was 20 years of age. He was from Cerro Gordo, North Carolina. Steadmon is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Panel 06E, Line 9.

His Father was Earlie "Dub" Adams born in Columbia SC, His Mother was Lizzie Savage, born in Hallsboro, NC. Daughter was Sandra D. Graham. Sister is Francine Jones, 6237 Cherrycrest Lane, Charlotte, N.C. Sister Ethel Livingston in Homer SC.

He served with Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, "Cacti Forever", 25th Infantry Division, "Tropic Lightning", USARV. Adam's unit was in the "Battle of The Bloody Boot" in Darlac Province, South Vietnam.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), the Purple Heart for his combat wounds, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.
