ALVIN, Wis.-Iva Marlene Smith Cole, 94, went home to her Lord on Nov. 18, 2007.
She was born Oct. 15, 1939 in Davenport, Ok. At age six she moved with her parents Lewis and Mollie (Reid) Smith to Tipler, Wis. where she later met and married Norman Leigh Cole. She and her husband owned and operated a business in Tipler. After their three children left home the couple moved to Park Rapids, Minn. where they lived for many years near their son and his family. They also lived in Eau Claire near a daughter. The couple was married for 48 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters and brothers.
She is survived by her children, Rae (Delbert) Tipler of Eau Claire, Wis., Norm (Gloria) Cole of Bemidji, Minn., Grace Cole of Kenora, Ontario, Canada and Kay (Keith) Hunholz of Elkhart Lake, Wis.; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; a brother Earl Smith; sisters-in-law Phyllis Marvel, Eileen and Gwen Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Alvin, Wis.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. at Grace Covenant Church in Iron River with the Rev. Keith Hunholz officiating.
