Mr. Gene Melton, 80 of Beulah, ran into the arms of Jesus on October 22, 2016, after serving the Lord for 51 years. Funeral service will be 11:00am CST Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home, burial will follow at Garden Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00pm-8:00pm CST Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.
Mr. Gene was the 10th child of 11 children born into a loving family. Mr. Gene was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved to travel, work in his yard, and loved serving the Lord. He had many friends, and was a loving person that was loved by many.
Mr. Gene is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Lena Melton; sisters: Gladys Baney, Ernestine McKinny, Maxine Hutchinson, and Ollie Mae Proctor; brothers: Merill Melton, and Darryl Melton.
Mr. Gene is survived by his sweetheart of 58 years Sue Melton; children: Timothy Melton (Reba), Patricia Askew, and Sheila Bone; along with 6 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren; sisters: Ruth Freeman, Madge Freeman, and Wanda Prock; brother, Glen Melton.
