Mr. Gene was the 10th child of 11 children born into a loving family. Mr. Gene was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved to travel, work in his yard, and loved serving the Lord. He had many friends, and was a loving person that was loved by many.
Mr. Gene is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Lena Melton; sisters: Gladys Baney, Ernestine McKinny, Maxine Hutchinson, and Ollie Mae Proctor; brothers: Merill Melton, and Darryl Melton.
Mr. Gene is survived by his sweetheart of 58 years Sue Melton; children: Timothy Melton (Reba), Patricia Askew, and Sheila Bone; along with 6 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren; sisters: Ruth Freeman, Madge Freeman, and Wanda Prock; brother, Glen Melton.
