Nancy Duffy, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Friday at Francis House. She was born in Washington, DC, raised in Cortland and lived in Syracuse for over 30 years. She was presently employed at News Channel 9, where she worked for 29 years. Nancy was a former reporter for the Syracuse Herald-Journal Newspaper, a press secretary for former Mayor Lee Alexander and also worked at WHEN-TV 5. Ms. Duffy was founder of the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Survivors: her sons, Peter (Laura) of NYC and Matthew (Dondi) of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Eleanor and Jackson; brother, George of Corvallis, Oregon; sister, Barbara (Dan) Beigel of Clinton, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Calling Hours: 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at FARONE & SON, 1500 Park St. Funeral Services: 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home and 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Downtown. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Contributions: Francis House, 108 Michaels Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13208.
