Sophie Lundeen
Died: April 5, 2013
(Nee Udovich) Entered Eternal Life on April 5, 2013 at the age of 92. Born August 8, 1920, the daughter of Louis and Frances Udovich. One of 10 siblings, she grew up in Greaney, MN. United in marriage to Harold Verlinde on May 4, 1945. Together they raised two children and touched the lives of 27 foster children. Harold preceded her in death in 1976. In 1984, she met and married, the second love of her life, Harley Lundeen. Together for 28 years, they enjoyed traveling, gambling and dancing the night away with their many friends at the West Allis Moose Lodge. Harley was her love, strength and devoted caregiver.
Sophie leaves a legacy of faith and love of family, along with an amazing joy for cooking, dancing, bingo and a game of cards. She was always ready to have fun. Her smile, and laugh, may have dimmed, but it will forever be in our hearts.
She is survived by her loving and deeply devoted husband Harley; her daughters, Francine (Robert) Jaworski of Madison, WI; Virginia Graunke of TN; Daughter-in-law Christine Verlinde of FL; grandsons Dennis Mahomey (Kathy) of KS; Dan (Jennifer) Jaworski of Monona, WI; Jake (Felicia) Verlinde of FL; granddaughters, Kimberly (Mitch) Urbanek of KS; Kelly Jaworski of Brooklyn, WI; Heather (Steve) Darnell of Evansville, WI; nine great-grandchildren; and many wonderful relatives and friends.
Sophie was preceded in death by both her first husband Harold Verlinde and son Rodney (Christine) Verlinde.
Visitation at the Funeral Home on Thursday, April 11, 10-:00 11:45 AM. Memorial Service at 12:00 PM. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
