United States Army Private Robles was killed in action in Italy. Frank entered service in March, 1943. In the latter part of 1943 he went overseas. February 27, 1944 he was wounded in action and was in the hospital about six weeks. Frank's parents were sent the Purple Heart and shrapnel fragments that caused his injury and death. Frank served with the 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division.
